about

Lee Jiménez is a cross pollinating visual storyteller, and organizer from Loisaida by way of Borikén. Their background in facilitation and lived experiences as a queer non binary femme are integral to the work; activating audiences to become participants in problem solving towards collective liberation. Across mediums, Lee’s projects are united in their attempts to interrogate our relationship to pleasure, intimacy, and one another. Lee is currently an art fellow for the Opening The Edge project through The Design Trust for Public Space and BUFU collaborator. In 2021, they collaborated with Ghost Note Agency to create an audiovisual soundscape for Nike’s “Aqui Me Quedo '' campaign, and launched an exhibit titled, “The 6th Boro”, as Art Bridge’s 2020 artist-in-residence. In 2018, they were a BUFU EYEDREAM resident at Eyebeam, a Create Change Fellow with The Laundromat Project, and worked as a teaching artist in Brooklyn through the Artist-In-Schools program at MoCADA. As Lee’s work expands to new media, facing forward they will continue to deepen their practice of collective dreaming and storytelling.
